I was born in Dallas, Texas. I grew up in South West Dallas in a small town called Arcadia Park. It was a mainly Mexican-American neighborhood. I attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Arts Magnet). I signed up for the visual arts cluster. I excelled in jewelry silversmithing, drawing and painting. I wanted to attend Rhode Island School of Design but my parents did not have the funds. I am now married to a wonderful woman named Angelic. She is a teacher and a professor from San Antonio. She has multiple degrees, SAGU, SMU and UTA.
After High School, I joined the Army. “Where’s the Winnebago?” I volunteered again while in AIT to join the 82nd Airborne Division to jump out of planes. After jump school, I was assigned to the historic 2/504th at Ft. Bragg where I served as a 31U Communications Specialist working on Radios.
Once my enlistment ended I worked for a Motorola Dealer in N.C. I then moved back to Dallas after a decade there.
A Salesman: Dallas brought me the opportunity to become a salesman. The company I worked for saw my potential selling 2-way radios. I did very well. At the same time. I learned graphic design and website design. I dove into sales, advertising, and marketing. I learned a lot.
An Entrepreneur: After years of working for people, I started a small mowing business on the side. After a few years of “learning”, the business grew into what we call today On Point Contractors. I am proud to say that my son Austin is my business partner.
An Artist: I have been drawing all my life. I draw, paint, sculpt. I love art! I will also get back to making jewelry.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B.S. in mechanical engineering while working simultaneously with my dad to help develop On Point Contractors to where it is today. Instead of pursuing a traditional career in engineering, I decided to do what I love and help grow On Point as a full-time partner.
Born in North Carolina and raised in the great white north (Canada), I spent my summers in Dallas, Texas, working on fences, sprinklers, and sod installations for my dad’s company. Developing a deep appreciation for Texas, I made the decision to relocate permanently in 2014. Now I’m a proud two-steppin’ ,boot wearin’, God fearin’ Texan.
I love playing tennis, frisbee golf, fitness, and watching the Dallas Cowboys stomp on the Philadelphia Eagles.
